The Sun Peaks Winter Okanagan Wine Festival is already underway and entering its final weekend of Heavenly Chocolate and Okanagan Wine, Mixology to Music, and a Bella Italia Brunch Buffet. If you missed it this year then already pencil it in for 2015 as this is a true Not to Miss!
“The 16th Annual Sun Peaks Winter Okanagan Wine Festival (January 11 to 19, 2014) kicks off with a brand new event, The Comforts of Grilled Cheese and Wine and continues for nine days with almost 20 one-of-a-kind events. As one of the largest gathering of B.C. wineries taking place in the winter, the festival draws thousands of participants every year to the alpine venue, which has been enjoying favourable snow conditions throughout this winter season.
The front end of the festival is loaded with interesting events, mixing fine B.C. wines with regional art and culinary fare, outdoor recreation and music. Participants can take in The Starbucks Brunch and Blind Tasting Party on Sunday, Snowshoe’s, S’mores and Mulled Wine on Monday, and Crescendo: Symphony of Taste on Tuesday.
The popular British Columbia Wine Awards Tasting, Port Chocolate and Cheese: After the Après Social, Heavenly Chocolate & Okanagan Wine, and Mixology to Music, are sold out, with the flagship event The Sun Peaks Progressive Tasting presented by WestJet close behind. Less than 100 tickets are available for the perennial sell-out, which includes 30 wineries and over 600 participants this year. Guests are encouraged to book early to avoid missing one of their favourite events.
Six new events joined the roster this winter, including Wine 101, Assemblage, and A Conversation with the Chef, all taking place during last weekend of the festival. Tickets and packages are available through Sun Peaks Central Reservations at 1-800-807-3257 and a complete listing of all events is available at www.SunPeaksResort.com/Wine-Festival.”
