Tucked away in the heart of the English countryside in Nottinghamshire is Thoresby Courtyard, the setting for this weekend’s Spring FoodFest. Say hello to spring on April 12th and 13th and sample the delights of local producers from Nottinghamshire and surrounding counties.
” Local artisan food producers and retailers are the stars of the show at Spring FoodFest, which will take place at Thoresby Courtyard near Ollerton on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 April 2014.
Around thirty small companies will be at the FoodFest this year, the majority of them based in Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, making this a truly local event.
Nottinghamshire companies Alethia Foods, All Mine Cakes, Bertie and Mabel Ice Cream, Chipstix, Sherwood Game, Sisters Cuisine, Tempted by Chocolate and Vintage Assortment will be there, alongside award-winning So Smoothies and Flipside Brewery. There will be a fantastic array of cheeses offered by The Cheese Shop Nottingham and The Deli Cheese Company.
Derbyshire will be well-represented by Really Awesome Coffee, Spirits of the Place and Sophisticakes Patisserie, and from Lincolnshire will come Ownsworth Rapeseed Oils, The Real Tea and Coffee Company and Bowser Brothers Hog Roast. Pick’s Organic Farm and Sloeberry Spirits will be flying the flag for Leicestershire, and Senor Churro and Pieroth Wine Tastings will come from Yorkshire for the event.
In addition to the food stalls, a Kitchen Theatre will offer regular demonstrations by Nottinghamshire chefs, and there’s even an Easter Egg Hunt for children.
Admission to the FoodFest is free, as is on-site parking at Thoresby Courtyard. “
