I’m Jess, a 26-year-old from Perth, Australia. I work full time as a travel agent, specialising in adventure travel, I am also studying Fitness and I blog in my spare time. Before I moved to the travel industry I spent six and a half years as a florist and an award-winning floral designer. I am passionate about travel and maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle when at home and while travelling. In my spare time I love to cycle, do yoga, go out for brunch and spend as much time as I can outside at the beach or hiking.

3. What is one food tip you would give about Perth, Australia?

Perth has a great food and bar scene with lots of outdoor markets and food vans, especially in summer. Enjoy the outdoors and sit by the beach or the river for a feed and a beer, and Perth has some pretty awesome Sunday sessions to end the weekend. Laneways and rooftops are also buzzing with small bars around the city.

4. What is one travel tip you would give about Perth, Australia?

I’d say don’t dismiss Perth and Western Australia when thinking about travelling to Australia. We are the most isolated but we have amazing beaches, beautiful sunsets, great food and wine and lots of adventure. I’d highly recommend spending two days at Rottnest Island off the coast of Perth. Here you will find the happiest animal on earth, the quokka, beautiful turquoise waters that are great for snorkelling and you can hire a bike and cycle around the whole island.

5. What is the best thing to eat in Perth, Australia?

My favourite thing to eat is the banana and coconut buckwheat pancake from Little Bird Cafe. It is a huge pancake topped with cashew cream, fruit and edible flowers. Not only delicious but it looks so pretty. They do amazing smoothies also. Another favourite is the banana bread from Flora and Fauna, again something that looks too pretty to eat.
