Beer and cider enthusiasts have a reason to celebrate this week as the Great British Beer Festival opens its doors to the public from the evening of August 13th to August 17th at Olympia London. With a beer list a mile long, plus live music and pub games, you’ll need the full five days to get through it all.

“The 36th Great British Beer Festival is expecting approximately 55,000 people to visit the event over the five days of the festival.

The show kicks-off with a Trade and Media Session on Tuesday 13th August. The doors open between 12 noon and 5pm for publicans, pub company & brewery representatives and journalists to try and discuss the best beers Britain has to offer.

The Champion Beer of Britain competition is also run during the Trade and Media Session and CAMRA will announce the award winning beers at around 2-3pm from the stage.

With over 800 real ales, ciders, perries and foreign beers to choose from is plenty for both the experienced and inexperienced visitor to enjoy but it is not all about the drink.

There is also plenty of different food to purchase and music to listen and relax to. If the music does not interest you then there are plenty of old traditional pub games to play, but these can be very popular! So if you see a spare alley, table or ‘Shut the Box’ going free then make the most of it whilst you can!

The festival is organised by the Campaign for Real Ale and we are always looking to recruit new members and the festival always offers some great membership packages. So if you have been meaning to sign-up for some time then visit the Membership Stand which is located on the left as you enter the festival.”
