Earth Day is a global movement aimed at increasing awareness and inspiring appreciation for the environment we live in. It is a day marked with outdoor activities, and worldwide, more than one billion people are expected to participate.
Doing its part for our environment is the Earth Day Food and Wine Festival, held on Saturday April 20th at the picturesque Pomar Junction Vineyard and Winery in Templeton, California. The Earth Day Food and Wine Festival is committed to hosting a zero-waste event and encourages sustainability by serving food from local chefs and producers on recyclable and compostable plates, bowls, and utensils.
“Kick up your boots and join us for the 7th annual Earth Day Food & Wine Festival — a weekend celebrating the very best of the Central Coast.
The feature event is Saturday afternoon at scenic Pomar Junction Vineyard and Winery where over 200 growers, vintners, and chefs come together to serve out-of-this-world pairings of award-winning wines with one-of-a-kind dishes made with locally-sourced fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, olive oils, chocolates, and more. Trust us. You won’t go hungry.
Top it all off with live music by the Guy Budd and the Gypsy Souls, dancing and more, and we think you’ll see that for a bunch of farmers dedicated to sustainability and nurturing the earth, we sure know how to throw one heck of a party!
And the fun doesn’t stop there! The entire weekend is packed full of events – Halter Ranch and Villa Creek host the annual Farm to Fork Dinner; enjoy an exclusive opportunity with Justin Smith of Saxum for a Tour, Tasting, and Picnic; or back for another repeat year is Nature’s Touch Farmers Sampler Brunch; join Best Bike Zone for Coffee and Ride through Templeton, or stock up on heirlooms at Windrose Farm’s Annual Plant Sale.”
