Why?

Taipei City is the capital city of Taiwan. The city has approximately 2.7 million citizens. Taipei is a dynamic and exciting city with beautiful skyscrapers and a lot of food markets which are worth visiting. Traveling by metro is really convenient, the streets and sight seeing places are easy to find. If you cannot find something, the local people are very friendly and helpful.

When?

There are four seasons in Taiwan.

–       Winter is from December to February. During this time of the year the temperature is low with an average degree of 14˚C. The winter months are also the driest months of the year. If you are planning to go to Taipei during January or February, you need to be aware to book your accommodation in advance because of the Chinese New Year.

–       Spring is from March to May. At this time, the temperature will be rising. The average temperature is between 15˚C to 20˚C. The end towards spring is the official start of the wet season and you might want to bring a rain jacket with you.

–       Summer is from June to August. This is the hottest and most humid time of the year. You should also be aware that this is the high season. It might be that accommodations are fully booked during these months of the year. During the summer time there are also some typhoon warnings. If there is a typhoon warning, you can find it on news channels.

–       Autumn is from September to November. The humidity and the heat will start to decline. However, September is considered the rainiest month of the year. After September the temperature will be around 20˚C and it won’t rain much.

So when is the best time to visit Taipei? I guess it depends on your personal interest. Each month brings their own experience. It also depends on the kind of weather you prefer while traveling. If your planning to go to Taipei during the winter months, you need to bring warm clothes. But if you planning to visit Taipei during the summer months, light clothes will be recommended because it gets humid. A raincoat or an umbrella might also come handy during this time of the year.
