Travel Glutton Moments are moments in time when travel and food merge together so perfectly well that you almost can’t believe it and have to pinch yourself to make sure it is all real.

If I can give any advice to those visiting the Home Made Market in Den Haag, the Netherlands, it’s to go with an empty stomach – and it also helps to have a sweet tooth! The market isn’t focused solely on food but there are cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, pies, cookies, and it all looks delicious.

My favourite place was the cute, converted caravan of Suiker&Bloem. Their tables were set up in the sun and it was the perfect location to enjoy their carrot cake. It was so moist and the cream cheese icing was infused with the taste of lavender.

What really drew me to their caravan though was the sign hanging above which said “Taartjes Maken Blij” which loosely translated to English means “Cakes Create Happiness”. It must be true because by looking at their faces you could see they were having a great time. And when I finished my carrot cake, I was smiling too. – Cora Gola
