Deep Fried Tequila Shots
There is really only one thing to say…where is the nearest tequila bottle? (Photo Credit: Oh, Bite It!)

If there ever was a recipe that crawled across our desk begging us to try it, it would be the Deep Fried Tequila Shots on Oh, Bite It!. We dare you, read the description and then look us straight in the eye and swear you weren’t dying to race off and grab some tequila, cake, and oil…

I really don’t know how to describe theses one of a kind treats, other than maybe.. try to envision a sweet and subtle tequila flavor all suspended inside a soaked until moist, melt in your mouth bite of sweet cake that tastes like funnel cake…that’s what these are like!

To be fair, Oh, Bite It! isn’t the only one experimenting with deep-fried alcohol. Jack and Corinna Clarkson from Preston, Lancashire, England also embarked on the adventure, soaking sponge cake in different alcoholic beverages before deep-frying them.

Never heard of Preston before? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. One of the highlights of this English city is Avenham & Miller Parks. A Victorian parkland created by Edward Milner during the 1860s, it even has its own Easter Egg Rolling event.

But when someone hands you the instructions and throws in drool-inducing pictures to boot, it makes putting the recipe at the top of the “things to cook” shortlist a no-brainer.

However, before you run off and get drunk, take a moment to appreciate salt and lime’s best friend – tequila. Tequila was born in Tequila – a town and municipality located in the Mexican state of Jalisco. According to Mexican law, Tequila, which is made from the blue agave plant, can only be produced in Jalisco and limited regions of Guanajuato, Michoacán, Nayarit, and Tamaulipas.

Oh, forget it…off you go…
