The Bodega Seafood, Art & Wine Festival is a showcase for the best of what northern California has to offer. This weekend, August 24th and 25th, fresh seafood, local wines, quality art, and other food, drink, and entertainment will be a feast for both your stomach and your eyes.
“The Bodega Seafood, Art & Wine Festival — Northern California’s largest seafood feast— will celebrate its 19th year August 24 and 25, 2013.
This annual benefit is one of the most popular festivals in the Bay Area, attracting thousands of foodies, art aficionados, wine and beer connoisseurs and music lovers to picturesque Watts Ranch in the village of Bodega, where Alfred Hitchcock filmed his classic thriller, “The Birds.”
More than 45 wineries and microbreweries will pour wines and beers, while 15 restaurants and catering companies offer a bounty of seafood classics, including barbecued oysters, crab cakes, Key Lime calamari, clam chowder and other delicacies. Vegetarian options, chicken, and meat dishes will also be available, as will a bevy of luscious sweet treats.
The quality of the art and fine craft is unrivaled in Sonoma County and beyond. This juried show attracts artisans from throughout California and other parts of the country.
In addition to seafood, wine, beer and art, the festival has three stages with a variety of musical entertainment, which features some of the best local and national performers in blues, jazz, world beat, Latin, Zydeco, as well as comedy, juggling and other non-musical performances.
The festival emphasis on delicious food and wonderful wines extends beyond the food booths and Tasting Tent. Visit our large food product tent, where local food producers sample and sell fantastic treats like toffees, baked goods, olives, spices, and much more. For the first time this year the festival will have a wine store where wines being poured in the Tasting Tent will be available for sale at the festival itself.
Proceeds from the event supports two important causes — Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods, which works in partnership with the California State Parks Foundation to provide environmental stewardship programs, and the Bodega Volunteer Fire Department.
Festival hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 25. Admission is $12 in advance for adults and free for children less than 12 years of age. Watts Ranch is located at 16885 Bodega Highway in the village of Bodega.
